In this study, Dialogic investigated what data sources could be used to measure music experience in the municipality of Eindhoven, the Netherlands. We created a list of 50 data sources with potentially interesting data. Each data source was evaluated against 11 criteria for usefulness, such as complexity, accessibility, restrictions, security and availability.
On the basis of this analysis, we performed three case studies using a selection of data sources, including (1) a combination of BandsInTown and MusicBrainz, (2) Facebook locations and events, and (3) Google searches.
