Kennisnet, the organisation that facilitates the use of ICT in the Dutch educational system, today published a guide that helps schools in the choice of external (internet) connectivity. Given a number of students and a level of simultaneous use, the guide provides minimum bandwidth requirements for today and in the future. Secondly, it helps guide schools drafting requirements related to the Internet connection, such as fixed IP addresses and back-upconnectivity, which in conjunction with the (Internet) connectivity, you buy from a private party.
The bandwidth requirements were calculated by Dialogic, and take into account the rapidly changing demands by the growing use of digital learning resources.
